At Exella, we use the sophisticated process of electroforming to produce extremely thin, flexible, and brilliantly designed metal components. This technology allows us to transform your brand or emblem into a high-quality metallic detail, ready to be applied to any surface.
What is nickel electroforming?
Theelectroformingis an advanced galvanic electrodeposition process that allows for "growing" layers of metal (typically nickel) atom by atom on a previously engraved matrix (mandrel). Once the desired thickness is reached (often less than 100 microns), the formed metal piece is detached from the mold. The result is a solid, self-supporting metal component of exceptional precision, capable of reproducing textures and optical effects that are impossible to achieve with traditional cutting.
Metallic adhesives: immediate and quick application
The real strength of our electroformed components is their ease of use. We provide logos, emblems, and decorations already positioned on aadhesive backing protected by a transparent film.
This ingenious solution allows you to apply the metal to the surface of your product (plastic, glass, leather, wood, or other alloys) with a simple manual step. No screws, hot glue, or welding operations are needed: just peel and press to achieve a flawless and durable aesthetic result.
The advantages of electroforming
The labels or components are ready to use, already colored, shiny, or gold, and easy to position on your products.
- Ultrathin Thicknesses:We can produce components with thicknesses of less than 100 microns, perfectly fitting the product design without creating annoying protrusions.
- Extreme Flexibility:The reduced thickness makes the pieces flexible enough to adapt to slightly curved surfaces.
- Photographic Precision:The atomic growth of nickel ensures an incredibly faithful reproduction of details, ideal for very small text or complex patterns.
- Zero Thermal Stress:The metal is deposited "cold" at the atomic level, avoiding any distortion or burrs on the edges.
Finishes and Colors (Eco-Friendly Innovation)
Electroformed nickel components come with a natural and bright "live silver" tone. Thanks to an innovativecathodic coloring process, we can offer a wide color range to customize your pieces: from classic colors to pastel shades.
All our finishing and coloring processes are proudlyeco-friendly: we use safe chemistry, strictly free from cyanides, nitrates, or fluorine.
Main Application Areas
The elegance and lightness of electroforming make it the technology of choice for enhancing products:
Eyewear:Ultrathin logos and writings for frames and lenses, durable decorative embellishments.
Watches and Electronics:Watch dials, bright logos for smartphones and hi-tech devices.
Fashion Accessories and Leather Goods:Flexible logos for bags, shoes, belts, and cases.
Luxury Packaging:Exclusive metal decorations for perfume bottles, cosmetics, and premium gift boxes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do electroformed logos peel off easily?
No. We use a high-strength industrial adhesive pre-applied to the back of the component. Once glued to the clean surface of the product, the logo offers excellent durability over time.
Can I glue the electroformed logo on a curved surface?
Yes. Thanks to the ultra-thin thickness of the galvanic deposition (generally under 100 microns), the pieces maintain a sufficient degree of flexibility to fit perfectly even on slightly convex surfaces, such as eyeglass temples or perfume bottles.
What do I need to start production?
You just need a black and white vector file (.dwg, .pdf, .ai) that defines the geometry of the piece. The component will come out of our facilities exactly identical to the graphic trace you provided.
